Hi, I’m Brighid.
I am a ritual bodyworker, women’s pelvic & womb mentor, Magdalena devotee, and an avid explorer of myth & mystery.
I have spent much of my life on an existential enquiry, studying and exploring my way through the realms of Steiner education, Neo-Tantra, erotic & archetypal embodiment, integrative transpersonal psychotherapy, and devotional ritualistic bodywork - all in search of the ancient teachings of mystery and initiation that live longingly in my heart.
I have been journeying with Mary Magdalene for five years now, and very closely with the gospel for the last three. I feel thrilled to be sharing with you what has revealed for me on this journey, and humbled by all that has yet to reveal…and I have no doubts that over these six weeks we will get to share some of this together!
it’s time to re-write history
The Gospel of Mary Magdalene is a 5th century gnostic text that remained hidden and undiscovered until 1896, and not fully translated for another 50 years after.
This text was purposefully erased from the collection of teachings that have shaped the culture and consciousness as we (in the west) know it today.
What we have been told is NOT the full story.
There are missing pieces, missing voices, missing stories. And THIS is one of them.
The Seven Veils are one of the core teachings to come from the MM gospel, and this 7-week journey is an exploration and embodiment of this teaching, as crafted by Brighid Rose through her own studies, practices, and somatic enquiries.

who was mary magdalene?
Mary Magdalene is a complex and multifaceted figure.
She is revered not just for her historical role but as a timeless symbol of spiritual empowerment, wisdom, and as an embodiment of the sacred feminine.
Historically, Mary Magdalene is known as the ‘Apostle of the Apostles’, for she has been described as being favoured by Jesus.
However, for centuries she was cast out under the guise of the penitent prostitute, and her teachings were buried.
As the world changes and consciousness evolves, we are making space for more truth to emerge. Magdalene holds the teachings of embodied love and sacred sexuality that we have been longing for.
and what is this about her gospel?
The Gospel of Mary Magdalene holds philosophies and practices that invite us into deeper embodiment and empowerment; teachings that evoke the profound love of our hearts and innate sovereignty of our soul.
This hidden scripture is a rebellion against all other christian texts, as it encourages us as human beings to embrace the divinity that already lives within us - we need not seek god or spirit through any other means.
the seven veils
The Seven Veils is a teaching that comes from The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, and refers simply to the journey of the soul towards its own divinity - “the Good”.
These sheaths of our personality/ego can oppress our soul’s true nature, simply through adhering to the limiting conditionings and patterns that we naturally accumulate through our lifetime, or through significant, potentially traumatic experiences.
The veils are invitations into becoming more intimate with the intricacies of our personality and weave the threads between our Self and our Soul.
Magdalene serves here as a midwife of the soul - a doula for each of us to liberate our deeper essence and rebirth into the FULLNESS of who we really are: a delicious, divine incarnation of sacred flesh and holy heart.
There are differing interpretations of the veils: they have also been translated as ‘powers’, ‘manifestations’, or ‘climates’. Brighid uses the term ‘veils’ as this has been a more embodied and empowering interpretation of these seven archetypal expressions of the ego.
Below are descriptions of each veil, as they have been unravelled, explored, and understood by Brighid through her personal studies of the gospel and other accompanying texts and teachers.

This first veil - Darkness - refers to the separation created by the ego that results in us feeling misunderstood, alone, and betrayed or abandoned by life/spirit. Through the stories we tell ourselves, we generate a set of beliefs that keep us separate from our own heart, and from authentically engaging with others or the world in general.
Our task here is to pierce through the stories of loneliness to awaken into the love that lives at the core of our hearts.
Journeying with through this veil offer us the gift of SELF-LOVE.

The second veil - Clinging - is the aspect of our ego that contains conditioned habits, patterns, and beliefs within the body-mind that expresses through attachment. It is where we are grasping onto what was, or what could have been. Old stories, relationships, memorable experiences, etc., that have a hold on us and filter into our present reality.
It is where we are facing back towards the past, or reaching for the future, rather than resting into where we are right now, embracing the fullness of what is available in this moment.
Journeying with this veil offers us the gift of SOVEREIGNTY.

The third veil - Ignorance - refers to the places within our psyche that refuse to, or are not capable of, acknowledging that which is true. It is where we hide from the truth as a means of keeping safe within the confines of the ego; where we are unable to see our impact (positive or negative) on ourselves, others, or the world.
This veil requires that we lean into the uncomfortable task of getting vulnerable, as it is only through vulnerability that we can be humble enough to admit where we carry blindspots in our vision.
Journeying with this veil offers us the gift of HUMILITY.

The fourth veil - Excess - is the part of you that purposefully throws itself off balance as a means to stay small and disempowered. This veil is an invitation into recognising our habits and addictions, and identify where we choose this over choosing what is truly loving and nourishing.
Journeying with this veil offers us the gift of EMPOWERMENT.

The fifth veil - Realm of the Flesh (Forgetting) - is one that shrouds the fiery radiance of our soul, and seduces us into believing that we are only this body-mind; that we are only that which ails us physically, mentally, emotionally, and that we are not connected to anything greater than this. It is where we get stuck in disbelieving that there is a deeper essence within us, or within others.
Journeying with this veil offers us the gift of CONNECTION.

The sixth veil - Foolish Wisdom of the Flesh (The Body) - refers to the tendency to overlook the body by placing ideas or judgements from the mind. It is how we bypass the wisdom that the body has to share with us; where we disregard its messages and the information that it seeks to share with us, whether this be through the nervous system, or through the deeper, more ancient knowledge that lives deep within our cells.
This veil is an invitation into exploring the relationship we have to our bodies, to our blood, to our womb, and to our eros. It is an opportunity to develop more trust in your intuition and a step on the feminine path of descent.
Journeying with this veil offers us the gift of EMBODIMENT.

The seventh veil - Rage - is a revelation of where something within you feels unheard, unjust, or unseen. It points to a boundary within you that feels like it is being crossed - either by someone outside of yourself, or you.
We experience rage (or anger) move through us in different ways, depending on how much permission our emotional body has had to be in its expression as its developed. Rage is one that may have been especially stifled, because of the taboo that it carries.
But rage doesn’t have to be explosive, or damaging. When we can learn to stay embodied and feel our hearts amidst the energy of anger, we can cultivate a relationship with this sacred force that provides us with a profound sense of clarity on what we’re experiencing.
Journeying with this veil offers us the gift of CLARITY.
Magdalene, to me, is…
Magdalena has been a guiding force on my path of descent and dissolution, mystery and magick, wildness and witchery.
For almost 11 years now I have been traversing the realms of sacred sexuality, archetypal embodiment, and the temple arts, and it has been my relationship with Magdalena that has nourished my emerging soul like no other.
First I saw Magdalena as a woman, but I now know this being as a force of life itself; as an infinitely multi-faceted expression of the Love that rests within the very core of our existence. Magdalena calls to us from inside our bones, vibrating us from the inside out and inviting the very matter of our bodies into deep, devotional presence.
This pulse of life is available for all of Humanity, regardless of body type or gender identity or religious beliefs. Magdalena is the sustaining voice of unconditional love that has been preached and burned and cancelled in every which way, yet never falters.
I am in service to that which is emerging, from myself, others, and the world. I see the mysteries evolving, those that have been coiled within our wombs have revealed their secrets and are calling us deeper into an embodiment of a primordial wisdom that reaches far beyond what we know and what we’re comfortable with.
Magdalena for me is the full spectrum of life as it is emerging moment-to-moment, from the deepest, intimate intricacies of my own internal world, to the tapestry that is woven by the threads of every human heart, to the vast expression of cosmic existence - and it is this ecstatic expression and embodiment of LIFE that I stand for, pray to, and am committed to bringing more of into this world.

No. Neither Gnosis or Brighid are affiliated with any of the Christian or Abrahamic religions.
The Gospel of Mary Magdalene is proof of early Christian sects that did not adhere to the Christianity that was canonised by the Roman Empire and forms the religion as we know it today.
If anything, this program is anti-religious, in that it specifically invites participants into discovering their own inner relationship to the Divine.

No. Gnosis is for anyone who feels called to explore these mysteries and their own inner landscape. This program does lean more towards the feminine mysteries in that we focus a lot on being in the body and in the heart, rather than focusing on our awareness, but this is not at all gender specific.

I like to leave a lot up to the mystery, however the calls will always incorporate a transmission around the veil for that week, space for sharing, an embodiment journey or exercise of some kind, and mayyyybe some paired/small group practices. Also various rituals will be woven into the calls and offered throughout the week as well.
